A lot of time, effort, ink and air time has been devoted
to both media malfeasance and the use of government
resources to directly and indirectly control what is and is
not reported to the American people. Propaganda,
disinformation, and misinformation have become the rule
rather than the exception. The litany of information
manipulation has sparked entire boutique industries,
including, but not limited to: "The Strange Death of
Vince Foster," Waco, Ruby Ridge, the Oklahoma City
bombing, TWA Flight 800, terrorist threats (real and
imagined), nuclear, biological and chemical threats,
civilian detention facilities, FEMA, and more.

The latest revelation, according to a former
administration insider, was reported in July 29 edition of
the Washington Times ( http://www.freerepublic.com/forum/a37a0590c20fd.htm ). Reportedly, "a new multi-agency
plan to closely control the dissemination of public
information abroad is really aimed at 'spinning the
American public.'" And guess what campers? YOU get
to pay for it

being moved to State, the administration is trying to redirect its resources and
its capabilities to collect and disseminate information. "This has been in the
works a long time," he said. "The target is the American people."

Why am I NOT reassured?

a) Congressional controls? The government controlling what we are
supposed to hear?

b) How will “they” know what the American public thinks? Why, through
POLLS, of course! The same polls that tell us we overwhelmingly love our
President and his loyal wife and beautiful daughter.

The biggest, most dangerous extremist activist group is either our Congress
or our entire government - depending upon personal definitions. I am much
more afraid of our government than I am murderers, rapists, burglars, or even
automobile accidents.

c) How long will it be before the “cooperation” with the United Nations will
facilitate foreign influence to determine what “news” we hear?

d) Let’s see, the first sentence of quote “a” and the last sentence of quote
“d”. Can’t be used in a partisan manner or to influence the American people
who are the target. Huh?
