Official election results

As of this moment, Bush has won Virginia, Kentucky, Indiana, and South Carolina.

Gore wins Vermont.

MSNBC exit polling shows popular vote 56% to 43% for Bush!

Well, nothing will be "official" for days probably.

This will make a good "official update thread" though.

270 electoral votes needed to win.

Currently:

Bush: 217
Gore: 167

Florida was originally projected to go to Gore, but Bush now holds a 51% to 46% lead in that state.

Glad L&P is back up and running. Thanks Rich! :)

California polls close in a little less than half an hour.

With Florida still up for grabs, California seems like it will be the determining factor in this election.

Ok, here's a quick breakdown:
Florida has 25 electoral votes.
The winner will most definately want this state.
BUT:
There are still 6 undecided states out there:
Washington, Oregon, Arizona, Wisconsin, Iowa, and Arkansas.
These 6 states comprise another 50 electoral votes. For a clear win, a majority of these states would be really nice to have.
