I think he is going to get a trip to Leavenworth. once you raise your hand and take the oath you don't have a choice

...please give me your opinions on this and lets try to keep it civil...

We have a volunteer Armed Forces... First Lieutenant Ehren Watada volunteered to serve... that means he doesn't have a right to object. I hope he is sent to Leavenworth for a very long time. I hope his mother understands this responsibility and some day understands why she is wrong, her son is wrong, and can apologize for her and her son's actions.

Wait wait, you mean the army is about more than getting some college loans paid off, wearing a spiffy uniform, and yellling at enlisted soldiers who know 10x more about the job they are doing then I do? I might actually be in danger?!?! Count me out!

Most of the time upon entering the officer corps, you have at least a 5 year committment due to the likelihood that the gooberment paid your way to where you are now.
Afterwards, feel free to resign your commission.

Although I agree with his sentiments, he isn't in a position to refuse orders.......yet.

For those who have had to fight for it, Life holds a special meaning that the protected will never know.
:barf:

The U.S. military isn't protecting me or my city from anything. If they were on the mex border shooting two legged coyotes then we'd have another story.

And I saw the pain and agony etched upon the faces of all these families of lost soldiers. And I told myself that this needs to stop.
(because im afraid it might happen to me)

This boy is a coward, nothing more, nothing less.:barf:

Not really name calling, what I meant was that I suspect you are just trying to still up trouble. But since you REALLY want me to defeat your "arguement", ok.

My sig line includes the qoute "For those who have had to fight for it, Life holds a special meaning that the protected will never know."

That means, in plain english, those who have had to fight for their lives (not yours or your city), hold a special respect and appreciation for life in general that people who have been protected from such desperate circumstances cannot know. If you have had to fight for your life at some point, you already know what I mean. If not, then you don't know. Nowhere in my qoute is the US military, your city, or you mentioned in any way. Really the qoute is about me, and the way I feel about the value of life.
