Not a rant, an observation and questions ....
labgrade's "a crazy," one of those "fringe elements."
I, and a couple others have done some posts regarding a somewhat more overt, strident type of activism.
These type posts seem to get very scant attention in TFL. A post re a boycott, a poll, 'when they take my guns, I'll ... " get all kinds of discussion.
The true activism posts don't. Don't be mad about the "true activism" bit. It's only a (maybe poorly put) description trying to draw a difference between bitching to the choir, writing those letters, making the phone calls, etc. and overt protesting, etc.
Really not trying to start a flame war here ... I'm looking for some discussion about the subject.
I've done several posts about TRT, Let Freedom Ring! 2000, some of the in the streets demos we've done in CO, I even was guest "speaker" in Freedom Republic (last was David Horowitz & some pretty big national "heavies" to come), had a write-up in WorldNetDaily (not too shabby) ... these seem to get little attention.
I'm curious why.
The letters, calls, etc. are certainly needed but I see that a more active approach is absolutely required as the current status quo - what we're doing now, isn't working.
The boat needs to be rocked - hard. We're being ignored.
There's a certain comfort level that we seem to not want to cross & I see the activism bit broken down into a few catagories.
Those that'll donate to their fave gun-group - basically let them do it for you.
Others will write letters, make the calls, discuss in forums, etc./preachinig to the choir.
Some will actually attend public town halls/legislative sessions, etc.
We are doing all that and out on the streets at every opportunity and in their face.
Are we the "crazies?"
Again, no flames - a question only.
I'll leave it at that and hope to generate some discussion about the activism topic.
