O3A3 Lube?

I picked up a nice M1903A3 this weekend. I was reading up on it in the NRA's booklet on the O3A3 and it stated something about "properly lubing" the action of the O3A3, but didn't say how. Anyone know what the proper lube is?

Thanks

Fred

Any of the standard lubes that you would use in any bolt action will do. Don't over lube it as it attracts dirt and grit. As with most things, "less is more"

We are talking about a bit of grease on the bolt lug and raceways here. Those tiny little pots you see at the Gunshows are fine.
Is Saying Gunshow Illegal Now? We are not talking about WD-40 in this application!

Recommendation:

Do not use WD-40 on guns. Under certain circumstances it can mildew and eat the gun finish. It also becomes sticky.

For lubing a bolt action, a little gun grease or Lubriplate works fine.

For cleaning and general preservation, I prefer something called G96 Gun Cleaner (not the scrubber), which cleans and leaves a film of preserving oil.
