O/U double rifle question.....

Asked this question a while back and got some kind ( Especially from Mr. Watson who was very patient with my ignorance. ) and informative replies. Sense then I have searched the web a number of times and just today came upon a thread on the Practical Machinest Forum where they are discussing rebarrelling shotgun actions to rifled.

They even alluded to a small bevey of activity in the UK in doing such with 20 ga actions.

My original idea was to have someone convert something like a Ruger Red Label. I still like the idea of it.

Any new suggestions or possible leads?

IIRC years ago someone actually made a set of barrels to convert the 20 GA Red Label to a double rifle.

I saw an EAA on auction arms that was a 12 gauge over under and had 45/70 barrel inserts for it as well. The gun looked really interesting and almost bought it.

As far as just rebarreling a shotgun it can be done. I have an old stevens single shot break open 20gauge that was long ago rebarreled (not by me) into a .218 bee. The gun is a great shooter!

Have seen a Baikal O/U with a 30/06 and 12 gauge setup that was going for around $450.
