O.C. question

Hey yall, I'm wondering if I could get some help from anyone living in New Mexico or Nevada. I'm going to travel to N.M for a wedding. On the way back I'm going to drive the wife and kid to the grand canyon and then to Reno and stay with my sister-in-law. I have a Utah CHL which covers Idaho, Utah and Arizona. However, N.M. and Nevada dont have reciprocity with Utah. They are both open carry states but i dont have an OWB holster for my cm9. Now for the question. N.M. law defines cc as this: " D. “concealed handgun” means a loaded handgun that is not visible to the ordinary observations of a reasonable person;

So would using an IWB holster and just keeping my shirt tucked in behind my firearm so it doesn't cover it qualify as OC? common sense tells me that If I do that It's no longer concealed and makes it "visible to the ordinary observations of a reasonable person" Hence making it legal OC. I'm just wondering if Im correct in my assumption?

Different states define OC differently. Some stipulate that a weapon is openly carried if it is visible from 3 sides (I.E. front, back, weapon side). With the definition you provide, it will largely depend on how high your holster rides, and how much of your firearm is visible.

Personally, when I am travelling to or through a state that doesn't honor my LTCH, I will either lock it in my trunk or leave it at home. I personally choose to avoid any confrontations with LEOs who may or may not know the laws of their state better than I do, and I really don't wanna be wrong.

My thoughts as well, A weapons charge in another State could ruin your right to carry at home. Too much risk involved for my taste.
