NYS Premise/Target Permit Question

Hey fellas, long-time reader here, first-time poster.

I assume everyone here is familiar with NYS's left-wing gun laws, so I'll skip the formalities and ask my question: is a target/premise permit licensee (not CCW) allowed to carry in the backyard? I'm a little unsure about what the coppers define as "within your property"--does that just mean inside your domicile, or does it include all the land within your property lines?

Bonus question: what's the laws regarding gun storage in your home? Can you actually have a loaded magazine ready to go, can you load said magazine and have it cocked and locked, or are both illegal?

So long as you are outside NY city then you may keep your guns in any condition that you see fit. (Albany and Buffalo MAY have some rules, not sure)

Technically, you may carry a handgun on your person on your property (or the property named on the permit) at any time, open or concealed. However, if your neighbors or passers-by call the police the responding officers may not see things your way so I'd carry concealed if there are others around.

Thanks for the info, Peetz...I read through the NYSRPA website, but it didn't have any specific provisions that answered my question. I guess that means I'll be carrying in the next backyard BBQ.
