NYS preban mag in a postban gun ?

In New York State can you use a 20 round preban mag in a postban AR 15 ?

I was in a LGS and over heard the clerk telling a customer that it is illegal in NYS

I believe the mags are grandfathered and did not become illegal as long as they were manufactured prior to the law going into effect.

No its perfectly legal to use a preban mag in a postban gun.

Mag's don't have serial numbers.... HOWEVER I wouldn't use a 20rd PMAG.....Those stick out as a post ban like a sore thumb,stick to old metal or aluminum mags...And you will be golden.
