Rifle Lovers:

I was a the Scheels store in Srpingfield, IL (amazing store, lots of entertainment) and they had a Nylon Remington 66 in near new condition. The price was $399. That seems very high to me. I'm not shopping for one. Already own one in decent shape that I bought at auction for $225. Can condition make that much difference in the value of this particular gun?

In the Northeast, I have been seeing them for $300 to $350, depending upon condition. I got my 66 back in the early 90's, used at a Gun show in Augusta Maine, for what I thought at the time was a Ripp Off, super inflated price of.... $120.00. At that price, I should have bought 6 of them...LOL!!!

I bought mine at Sears Roebuck for $75.00...back in 1972. It has fired thousands of rounds and still shoots like brand new. I have only replaced the firing pin and a couple of springs. Mine isn't for sale at any price......

i sold my gallery .22 short with case deflector and factory sling mounts for 1200.00 two years ago, it was factory new in the box. eastbank.

Not exactly. That $120 in say 1993 is worth about $330 now, even without considering any sort of interest from something as safe as a savings account. You would have passed up a considerable amount of money on that investment.

Saw a number of them in Cabellas for less than that. Condition is the biggest factor in the price of a used gun. (same model, same caliber)
