NY'ers are their own worst enemy

Rant mode on!

To those who could care less about NY, I apologize but this has to be said.

Yesterday July 29 I attended a pro gun rally at the NY state capitol plaza put on by the NYS rifle & Pistol Assn. A lot of good people went to great trouble to set up this rally in our state capitol. I got up in the middle of the night (OK so it was 5AM) to drive to Albany to attend.

I was very disappointed. Only about 200 people bothered to show up! None of the regular blowhards for RKBA were there. Even John Lott, who was supposed to speak, didn't show up. The local media was there and we looked like total jerks. There were almost more General Service employees working on the grounds than pro gun people at the rally.

Last month the NRA set up a seminar on how to influence political campaigns. Paid for a hotel conference room in a ritzy local hotel, sent three people from Virginia as presenters. Many people pre registered, but less than half showed up!
The showing was pitifull, but at least most of the local loudmouths were there. As a NY'er I was embarrassed.

This State is worthless, full of lazy , stupid, jerks who are only interested in their kown petty little worlds. Don't expect NY to stand up and fight when the constitution is finally trashed. They will be too busy watching football on TV or travelling to Atlantic City to hit the tables.

To all of you who can't spare the time, you deserve to loose your guns. And you will, very soon.

We gotta know about it first!!!

I get weekly "give us more money" blurbs from the NRA, but never any timely notice of events! Was this one prominently advertised in the monthly NYSRPA blurb? or tucked away in the schedule of events, if at all?

The only time I find out about such things is via forwarded email about 1 day before a rally set about 250 miles away on a weekday. And I'm actively interested in such things!

And is anything being done beyond rallies? Waving signs is fine IF there's some serious legal action going on. I'd love to do some serious legal work if I knew any "insiders" that could prepare a worthy suit that won't get dismissed "for lack of standing". One person with a good lawsuit could do far more than a few thousand "sign-toting extremists".
