New York officer charged with seeking sex with minor online

NEW YORK (August 3, 2000 9:03 a.m. EDT http://www.nandotimes.com) - A New York police officer has been arrested for seeking sex with an underage girl over the Internet, a federal prosecutor said Wednesday.

Philip Amatulli, of the New York Police Department, has been indicted for inciting a minor to carry out sexual activity, Mary Jo White, U.S. attorney for the southern district of New York, said in a statement.

Amatulli thought he was exchanging messages with an underage girl in Washington, but his correspondent was in fact a Customs agent.

He boasted in the messages that he had already had sexual relations with at least two other underage girls.

He was arrested at his home Wednesday, then freed on $150,000 bail. Hundreds of pedophile photographs were found stored on his computer.

If convicted, he faces a possible 15-year prison sentence and a fine of $250,000.

Degenerate pedohpiles can be found among all groups and professions. I hope that pervert gets jail time. I just wish those degenerates didn't get propective custody. They should be among the general prison population to let the other inmates dispense jailhouse justice.

They did not say how old the girl in question was. Or for that matter how old the officer was. A 21 year old guy having an interest in a 17 year old girl might be illegal per say in some states, but I would think that should be a family matter.
