NY/Long Island rifle and shotgun law?

I'm moving to the NY/Long island area in 6 weeks, I've been searching for the past two hours on Gun laws in NY/Long Island, specifically I'm only interested in rifle and shotguns (rimfire/centerfire) as I don't own any handguns. Does anyone have any links I can view the laws at? I've currently not been able to find anything useful. Any help is greatly appreciated.

Except for New York City, Long Guns are not required at this time to be registered. Both Nassau and Suffolk Counties come under State Law. The 5 boroughs of NYC have their own laws and all firearms must be registered.

NY State still has the Assault Weapons Ban in place.
