Ok all you NY'ers, it's time to let the governor and the Republicans know how we feel.

SCOPE NY is sponsoring a rally at the republican headquarters, Albany NY on November 1, 2000. Starting at 4.PM

Lets show up in force and make a statement.

Greetings Geoff

We will be demonstrating between 4:00 and 5:30, people can either park
down at the Capital or the Plaza and walk up hill, up State Street (the
street between the Capital building or the Plaza) a block and a half to
where they will see us. They can park in Washington Park, State Street
runs along the Northern edge of the park, follow State Street East or
down hill about a block and a half.

Visit the link http://www.scopeny.org/rally00.html click on the icon for
the Capitol building and you will see a map that depicts State Street
(labeled about 2 inches out from the Capitol just past US Highway 9).
Visit the SCOPE web site at www.scopeny.org visit our Civil Rights page
and click July 29th Civil Rights Rally to get to the first map mentioned,
click the Capitol icon to get to this same map.

Please spread word of this rally and the information I have sent so far,
far and wide, and encourage those who receive it to do like wise.

Nobody interested? I know a few of you folks are from NY!

This state really hacks me off! everyone is on their own little ego trip. there are dozens of gun rights groups in NY but they won't work with each other. This state is lost. We deserve Pataki and his backstabbing.

Take it easy Geoff.

I'm just as pissed off as you are about the new laws. Just reamed and cleaned my local Senator over his vote for the new laws.

The stupid Republicans in this state have sold us out over gun control thinking they were buying themselves some peace with the left.

These jerks are about to learn what the Dems are going to learn this election. That gun control is going to be an anchor around their necks.

I write, call and write again to these jerks and they still stab us in the backs.

They have now given the anti-gunners a perfect opportunity to build on their agenda.

I'll vote accordingly, that's all. That's all we can really do now. It's been signed into law.

If the firestorm of calls and letters and lobbying didn't sway them when they were considering the laws, nothing will, except to be voted the hell out of office to make an example of them.

I think our only hope in the future is to offer primary challenges to the bums that deserted us.

Hang in there.

Good luck guys, I'm a former Shooters Committe on Policical Education (if I recall correctly) member-left the PRNY back in '94. Attended the Albany rallys in '92 and '93. Whats the latest in gun laws there? Nothing good I gather from this thread.
