For those that need 'em, I haven't seen these around for some time. I just got my Police Positive up and running after being turned away by a few gunsmiths. Just thought I would share for those of you who have given up the search!!!

Based on past experience, those parts are likely made for Gun Parts and are cast, as were their bolts for the Model 1877. If that is true they will probably work, but only after extensive fitting, more than normal with a bolt.

Jack First for Colt-LIKE parts. :)
Not original Colt parts.

Just to clarify for those who don't know.

Where did you find this part listed on Numrich? All the "D" frame guns listings say "sold out."

Thanks for the heads up on Jack First. When I asked about this revolver a few years ago, this forum told me it was a wallhanger and so I missed the boat on Jack First (first I've heard). I just checked Numrich and it seems like someone bit, because they are now sold out. They were a New Arrival when I bought mine, so that means they went FAST. The page I looked at is at here: https://www.gunpartscorp.com/Manufa...s-35751/DFrame-37997/PolicePositive-35911.htm

The bolt itself looked way oversized when it arrived, but it looked like any engagement surfaces should be fine, so I didn't mess with it and dropped it right in. Turns out, although being wide than the broken factory bolt I pulled out of the gun, everything else ticks just right. After I got it back together the cylinder seemed kind of tight on it, but about 30 dry fires seemed to get it working without any fitting. I wish I had bought a spare because I am not aware of any other company where a D Frame bolt can be purchased from old stock, new stock, for trade or barter, or even a left hand. If Jack First specifically keeps in stock Colt D Frame bolts, then I think there are a lot of people out there who need to know!!! In my research that appears to be a high failure prone component.
