And if an anti-gun candidate gets elected because some gun owners choose not to vote, I wonder if any of these same non-voting gun owners will complain about the loss of their 2nd Amendment rights here on the Firing Line? :(

It is appalling to see the results so far

It's usually the loudest that do nothing more than complain. Always waiting to see what the other guy does and always after the fact. It's hard to believe that 34 individuals read this poll and thread and only 3 voted. This leads me to believe that all will be lost, that was gained, leading to even further erosion of the 2nd. Everybody wants some but far and few go and get it.:barf:

Yes, I'm an NRA member and yes, I will vote.
As far as complaining about how people are voting in your poll, 45, I think that it's really hard to take it seriously when what you have to say is more of a one-sided rant. I do believe in retaining my RKBA however I can, but insulting people and claiming disgust to peoples' opinions is no way to influence.

I'm not going to participate in your poll for several reasons.
1. It's a stupid poll to post on a gun board.
(Kind of like going out to a Pro-Life board and asking how many support abortion.)
2. It appears to me that by listing the ID's of those that respond you are just fishing for people that don't agree with your position so you can bad-mouth them in later posts.

Oh Yeah, just to not give you a target, I do belong to the NRA and I do vote. How I vote is my business, not yours.

Sure they will. Then they'll blame the NRA for it because they think they are a worthless "fringe organization". They won't mention the fact they didn't join however because, "They sent me too much junk mail", or, "They're always asking me for money", or, "They always call me at dinnertime", or, "They waste money on keychains and magazines", or, "They're too extreme". If they spent as much time and effort voteing and joining the NRA as they do bitching about it we wouldn't have these issues. Look at the effectivness of the NRA with 4 million members. Imagine how effective they would be if all 80 MILLION gun owners joined! But you will never see it because all these political geniuses think they can advance the cause of gun ownership better by themselves than the NRA can with 4 million members. They could most likely fly without wings if you ask them. Legends in their own mind. Bill T.

Hey Bill right on target man! The 80 million gun owners, thats what I'm talking about. Could you imagine the 80 united for any particular cause? The world would be ours. I did not start this poll to denegrate anyone. If you feel insulted for that I am truly sorry. On the other hand, if we let strong language and petty things as such get in the way of our objectives, then truly all will be lost. I am assuming that all who vote here will be voting pro 2nd, if not(Deadout), then maybe you should be on a Sarah Brady type forum. It's possible that by assume (ing) I have made an ass out of u and me.

45,
For someone that has been here for less than a month, has already had one thread closed and is working on getting another, seems to like "strong language" and to belittle people that don't care for your confrontational style, I predict that your career on TFL may be glorious, and short.

The man speaks the truth. As far as "locking threads", there is way too much of that around here as it is. Don't blame him if you don't like the message. Ignoring fact isn't going to benifit anyone on this board, or anyone else for that matter. It seems everytime a topic gets slightly heated it gets locked up. There has been no name calling here or personal attacks. Let's grow up a bit and stop with the "take my marbles and go home" attitude. Bill T.

Not everyone here is from America, maybe the person who voted no/no was not American. I'm 16 so I would also vote no/no. (I turn 18 a month after elections:( )

You know what, I'm not wasting anymore time with the likes of this forum and all the lameness of some of the people here. I think I'll just go out and shoot more often. My time will be better spent. At least I'll get some more time in before they come a knockin' on everyones door, to grab our guns, and schedule their destruction. Roll over and go back to bed, it's only a dream, it's only the internet. BTW anyone ever heard of the 1st amendment, this aint no movie theatre.:)

"At least I'll get some more time in before they come a knockin' on everyones door, to grab our guns, and schedule their destruction."

That is exactly what they did it in Australia. But don't worry, go to the range, have fun, don't waste time and money joining the NRA because it's all just a bad dream that won't ever come true. God, sometimes I just would love to know what makes people come up with this rhetoric when the plain and simple truth is starring them right in the face. Bill T.

"What I don't like is the way the message is being delivered."

As I said, the NRA is all about political muscle, pure and simple. There is no way they can do what they do and be "a bunch of smiling, swell guys." I'm sick and tired of people who are so damn worried about the NRA's "image". They aren't on Capitol Hill to make buddies. They are there to fight every single piece of gun legislation tooth and nail. "Bully tactics?" Your damn right! Whatever it takes. I would much rather be hated as a gun owner and NRA member and keep my guns, than be "well liked" by a bunch of idiot's in a disarmed society which is exactly where we are headed with a politically weakened NRA, or no NRA at all. Bill T.
