NRA to run Harrisburg show

That whole mess..

Was a real S storm all the way around.
To not allow ARs or certain firearms then be stand-off-ish is wrong.

Safety or law enforcement issues at a event are important but when you start to rag on or look down on certain types of gun owners or types of shooting sports, then you'll kick up a hornets nest.
I think it was old Ben Franklin who said the famous words; "Anyone who will give up liberty for security deserves neither!"

;)

"I'm glad to see that Eastern is OUT for 2014."

Say what now?

Eastern is not a company promoting the show. It's a reference to the region.

Reed's was the promoter whose decision to ban modern sporting rifles and related items caused a vendor boycott resulting in the cancellation of the show.

Reeds is HQ'd in the UK to boot

Mike is correct. Many years ago the "Eastern" Show got to big for the local founders and they contracted to a larger organization(Reed Exhibitions) to run it for them. The arrangement was similar to the Reed's management of the Shot Show for the NRA?(err NSSF?)?, except the contract allowed them to keep control of policy matters, hence no train wreck at the Shot Show. Good lesson in contract law for those who pay others to run their events for them.

SHOT Show is put on by NSSF (National Shooting Sports Foundation), an industry group, not the NRA. But you are correct on your other points.
