NRA members

New member
I have been a life time member for a numbers of years now..

I often wonder just how many members there really are using
these forums...If they were all members, think what our strength
would be...So if your not a member please take the time to join
WE NEED you.....Merry Christmas.....strength in numbers....

Many of us are members. I just sent off the check for a renewal.

However, in this thread - let's not go down the bash road - yet again.

My view is that I may disagree with them on this or that. However, their strength acts as a damper on actually seeing Federal gun laws being passed.

It's pretty clear that the current administration has adopted that policy. You get rhetoric about X, Y and Z but no real action. Some positive things have gotten through.

The strength of the NRA probably stopped the AWB from being renewed by letting Congress know that would be a bad thing. Recall the Pres. at that time said he would sign it IF it got to him. It didn't.

So I also need another free knife from China.

NO BASHING is or was intended..If it sounded that way, then I am sorry...

I know they the NRA can come across like a bunch of beggers....But we need
someone to go to bat for us..I just like to try to get a few more people involved is all..We have some gun clubs that if your not an NRA member you can't shoot there...Kind of makes since in a way..But to each his own as the saying goes.....I hope there was no harm in posting it....Merry Christmas to all..:o

I've been a NRA member for about 35 years. I was big in Police Unions for maybe 20 years where I learned that it takes big bucks to be involved in politics. You want YOUR NRA to be successful? Send'm some money.

Life Member.

Like Glenn said, we all don't always agree with everything the NRA does, but they have a track record of accomplishments, when it comes to protecting the RKBA.

Been a member since I earned my Marksmanship Merit Badge in the Boy Scouts when I was 14 back in 1958. Signed up my grandson 2 years ago when he turned 11 and got his Henry .22 for Christmas.

I’ve been a NRA member now for something like 20 years. Personally, I believe anyone that owns a firearm should also be a member of the NRA. But you’d be surprised at how many are not, and there’s probably many on the this forum that are not.

On a side note, I own and race motorcycles. I think everyone that throws their leg over a motorcycle should belong to the AMA (American Motorcyclists Association). But you would be surprised how many are not. Two years ago I ran for the AMA Board of Directors. I needed 250 signatures on a petition to be placed on a ballot. I figured there would be no better place to get signatures then at a professional race. 10,000 spectators, so I should have no problems getting 250 people to sign. I worked for two hours and only found 10 people that were AMA members. I know I asked at least 100 people. I got discouraged and gave up that day.

So if only 10% of people present at an event are members of the organization that holds the event, I’d be willing to bet that not many more then 10% of the regular posters here are members of the NRA. Many people own firearms, but few are willing to help fight for the rights to own them. How many firearms owners are there in the USA? 60 million? How many are NRA members? 3 million, maybe?

Been a Life Member for 20+ years. When I hear someone bad mouth the NRA I try to think where we might be if they were not around. It could be far worse than it is today. Merry Christmas to all and to all a safe and happy New Year.

I disagree with a fair amount of the NRA's actions (maybe 30%, or so), but the majority of what they do makes my money flow their way.

I should have my EPL life membership paid off by the middle of next year.
