NRA local organization question

Hi,

I've resently been sponsored to the NRA by a very generous individual. I have not yet recieved my info though. I would like to know what sort of local organization they have. I live in Eastern Iowa, and I would very much like to be able to actually get together with other NRA folks locally and work on things.

So, how do they organize on a local level, do they at all?

LOL
Those are called state lobbies.
Our state Lobby in TN started because many felt their rights werent properly being represented by the NRA.
Im still looking for a pro-gun bill in our legislature that our state NRA rep claims to have helped get backed.
I never even saw an NRA email alert encouraging members to help the SAS march at washington against the MMM.
I was an NRA member for a year occasionally youll go to 'friends of NRA meetings' when they have them in your area.
The wonderful thing is I became a GOA member not long after I joined the NRA and was able to see the stark difference.
NO GOA's locally GOA's not especially better locally either but..Ive never heard of another lobby telling its members to send their money to an entirely different lobby to help that state lobbies efforst in the defense of our 2nd.
The important and wonderful and encouraging thing is your involved your not just sitting on the sidelinges like so many other whinning gunowners.
Im also involved it may never be the NRA again but always involved. www.ccrkba.org www.gunowners.org www.jpfo.org www.jbs.org www.tenneseefirearms.com www.ccops.org

I realize my feelings to many on the NRA are now coming across like Im beating a dead dog but Im not gonna take care of or spend money on a dog that doesnt have the spine or teeth to bite or when Im in danger.

Well the whole reason I joined is to give it teeth. My first step would be to track down the other members in my area and organize stuff with them.
