NRA membership increased by 200,000 in April and May and May isn't even over yet.

This is a powerful Statement!

If you are not a member, join and become 200,001!!

Reminder - if you're an NRA member you need to also join GOA.

The NRA is a short term solution at best. The GOA is our best hope for a no-compromise remedy to our problem. If we had 3 million members in the GOA, we would not be in this position.

Join the GOA!

NRA? Good. Now joing the GOA!

I sometimes see the NRA's point. They don't "compromise" so much as try to soften the blows from unstoppable laws (e.g. brady). And they approach gun ownership from the utilitarian point of view, e.g. they WOULD retreat to just defending the majority (hunters).

Brady WAS going to be worse, believe it or not - and actually INCLUDED one gun a month.

I see it as a two-pronged attack, NRA is the shield, GOA is the sword.

Shield is good; we need the shield; but without the sword we won't win.

Battler.
NRA is my shield.
GOA is my sword.

Battler.

Thats an income growth of only 5 million dollars in new membership dues.
Thats enough to pay for - what a week of national TV ads?

Very well said Battler...I agree 100%
Now's the time to end the complacency and start our offense. Both the NRA and GOA, SAF need all the financial backing that can be garnered.

I'm an NRA, SAF and GOA member. I never see the GOA do anything.. Can anyone tell me what the GOA has done with my money? Where are their "new shooter" programs? I never see Larry Pratt on TV batting the Anti's. I never see the Anti's calling the GOA the "bad guys". Where are the GOA's "Range development" programs??? Why does no one ever answer these questions?

Patrick, no flame but you are wrong about the GOA.

I do see Larry Pratt on TV and hear him onl radio. He puts LaPierre to shame as he is very well spoken.

They do not have "new shooter programs" or "range development programs" because they prefer to work on a legislative basis only, in order to be highly focused.

The Anti's don't call the GOA "bad guys" because for now, they are too small. Highly organized, but small at about 250,000 members. They do not yet have the political muscle that the NRA has, but they will.

Remember, the GOA does not have, nor do they want, the "fuzzy" programs like the NRA - competitions, paraphenalia, etc. They want to keep their efforts aimed at the legislature.

If the GOA had 3 million members, you can get we'd all still have 15 round pistol magazines.

I think some are confusing the NRA with the NRA-ILA. When you join the NRA that money cannot be used for lobbying. Instead the money is used for ranges, competitions, magazines, etc, etc. If you want to give money for lobbying contribute to the NRA-ILA. It seems to me that GOA is more like the NRA-ILA than the NRA.

And since when is there such a thing as one pro-RKBA organization better than another? The worst thing is to turn people off to joining a pro-RKBA group, be it the NRA, GOA or JPFO.

So many pistols, so little money.

No flame intented but, I never see larry pratt on TV, only wayne and the gals/guys. New shooter programs and range developement can hardly be considered "fuzzy" programs, our future depends on getting kids involved and getting them a place to shoot. I also never see a GOA rep, nor do I hear of one at the Indiana state house. I do hear a lot about and from John Crone in Indiana. He is the local NRA field rep. I have to reiterate, why put the GOA ahead of the NRA? They seem only to be a second rate pro-gun org compared to the NRA.
I hear more from and about the SAF than GOA. SAF has a series of pro gun radio ads and they are suing the mayors who are suing the gun mfg. I think the GOA ought to get off it's duff and do something with the money I've sent it.
