Below is the text from a full page NRA ad in todays LA Times. It was on the back page of the Convention 2000 special section.

DO DEMOCRATS WANT TO DESTROY THE SECOND AMENDMENT?

It's a fair question.

Honest gunmakers are being sued out of business by the Clinton-Gore administration and twenty-six big-city mayors who are all, but three, Democrats.

The anti-gun lobbies are composed of almost all Democrats.

Their big donors are almost all Democrats.

The gun-hating celebrities who want their bodyguards armed, but not you, are almost all Democrats.

From anti-gun mayors and march organizers to a gun-hating Hollywood and White House, they're almost all Democrats.

WHY ARE THERE SO FEW DEMOCRATS WHO RISE IN DEFENSE OF CONSTITUTIONAL FREEDOM?

At the bottom there are two small pictures of Charlton Heston and Wayne LaPierre and the NRA logo.

Same full page ad in the USA Today.

Saw a TV ad with Heston with the same message. Don't remember which network it was on but it was on during the nightly Yak about the convention.

It's about time!

Oh come on... they can write a better add than this... This says what? Think this is going to change the minds of anyone? All I can see this is doing is giving the dems more fuel to their fire. See the Republicans are in the back pocket of the NRA. The Republicans will do what ever the NRA tells them to do....

Where are the facts? Where are the words to tell the people about what the second means? Where does it tell the people how are courts are lying about the meaning of the 2nd?

Nothing..... So this is where my dues are going.... Time for a change of management in the NRA....

The debate is not about guns,
but rather who has the ultimate power to rule,
the People or Government.
RKBA!

Geoff,
I didn't see it. Was the TV ad any good?

If you throw too many facts out at one time, your average, ostrich-like, American will quickly turn the page/channel. Saying, "They're after us, so are they, and these guys, etc" tends to make you look a bit paranoid, regardless of whether you're right.
The NRA made the point that these aren't different groups with the same noble goal, they are the same and they are democrats.

C'mon guys. This is an AD, not a treatise on the Second Amendment. I thought it was GREAT! Tell it like it is. The Demo Dufus talking heads are fuming over it. And rightly so! It skewers them, and they NEED SKEWERING.
