NRA Board of Directors Election - 2011

So, it is once again time to elect candidates for the NRA Board of Directors. There are 37 nominated candidates and 25 available slots. Anybody have any useful information on the candidates to share?

Who are the best candidates to straighten out some of the NRAs less effective practices while keeping the good parts?

NRAs less effective practices while keeping the good parts?

What less effective practices might that be?

Just mailed my ballot. i voted for 17 board members. Because of statements made by NRA board member Joaquin Jackson; i will not vote for a LEO.

Well, so far I've found the following resources endorsing people for NRA Board of Director positions:

AR15.com Endorsements: http://www.ar15.com/forums/topic.html?b=1&f=156&t=1154297
Firearms Coalition Endorsement: http://www.firearmscoalition.org/in...ew=article&id=551:nrabod2011&catid=50:reports

It looks like Linda Walker is a good candidate for the Board of Directors.

However, it looks like the NRA Nominating Committee has declined to endorse either Steve Schreiner (again) or R. Lee Ermey of Full Metal Jacket fame. Not sure what the deal is with Mr. Schreiner as he runs every year and the NRA Nominating Board ignores him every year.

However, I was a bit surprised to see R. Lee Ermey not get a nod from the Nominating Board when Erik Estrada got one. Normally the NRA seems to like celebrities on the Boards. Anyone know the backstory on this?

I was wondering the same thing. I was also surprised to see that Linda Walker wasn't "blessed" by the Nominating Committee. Guess that makes two "renegades" I supported. ;)
