NRA and GOA and Tax Deductible Contributions

Why is it that if I contribute to the NRA, I can't take a tax deduction, but on the other hand, if I contribute to GOA, I can???

You're comparing apples to oranges.

Your link goes to the GOF donation page (Gun Owners Foundation) They are affiliated with the GOA, but they are not the GOA. At this link, it plainly states that, "Donations to GOA are not deductible for income tax purposes."

Likewise, if you wish to join the NRA, your donation will not be tax deductible. However, if you wish to make a donation to the NRA Foundation, that contribution is tax deductible.
