If everbody would like to get a good laugh go to the NPR national public radio web site and go to Jerry Dvorkin
the ombudsman and read the mission statement. I though it was very entertaining especially about the
"fair and balanced reporting," aspect.
If you get bored e-mail him as I have and give him your opinion.

That NPR "report" is actually a commentary and not a news report. Commentaries are supposed to be biased. The week before, they had this commentary, http://www.npr.org/ramfiles/me/20000717.me.14.rmm, which was *very* pro-gun. In my opinion, NPR is slighly biased against guns in their news reporting but they do try and present opinions from all sides of the issues.

Listen to the saturday morning with scott simon and daniel shore and his political commentaries. In my opinion, when you have a commentary coming from the left it should be balanced by a commentary from the right and vice versa;otherwise, you have something known as propaganda.

Here are two other associated TFL threads on this.

I wrote the gentleman but never heard back. Nevertheless, I think it's a good idea to keep needling them with facts, taking them up on their offer. The problem is that most of us have given up on this outfit, and to have to listen through HOURS of liberal pap in order to catch the one or two gun items is a pretty rough row to hoe. Therefore, we usually have to write him about generalities.
