Now That's Concealed Carry

A North Carolina inmate apparently smuggled a .38 into jail concealed in his, well, rectum. What is comical about it is the gun was not loaded! So, why go to this much trouble for a gun you could not use? Was he hiding the gun to avoid being charged with possessing during the traffic stop without really intending to take it into jail? The entire thing is a little difficult to believe, and I wonder if he maybe got the gun after he was jailed and the Sheriff’s office does not want to admit the possibility. I guess this shows there is no end to ingenuity or desperation.

That's one lame story for covering up an awful job of conducting a pat-down. I do not believe what they're speculating to be possible without significant injury, not to mention time and obvious effort on both... insertion... and ... removal.

I recall a police interrogation video wherein the prisoner asks for a glass of water or some such thing and when the officer leaves the room the prisoner pulls a fairly substantial handgun from the front of his pants and shoots himself in the head. It doesn't need to be in "special places" to be missed in a pat-down.

Authorities wanted medical officials to evaluate Ward for possible injuries to his rectum, where deputies think he concealed the unloaded .38-caliber, six-barrel revolver.

Six barrels? That thing must have been huge!

I'm sure they meant six chambers, which still suggests this thing wasn't exactly a pocket gun. Maybe he was just preparing himself for the rigors of prison life.

"Personal Concealment" for this sized object, with "no signs of injury during an exam" seems like a much less likely possibility than 100% of the Sheriff's staff are 100% trustworthy. I expect a forensic exam could determine if there was any fecal materials in the nooks and crannies of the pistol, and give a more definitive answer.

If it really were concealed, wow / ouch!

I sure hope that's just another case of an ignorant reporter with an equally ignorant editor/proofreader.......

.....look on the bright side: he did not refer to it as an AK-47!

Maybe he swallowed six rounds?

That way when he pulled the gun out of his ass it would be loaded and ready to go.

Given the upward trend in waist size here in America, I can easily see how a gun can be sandwiched in there. Hell, he may have just lost it and been just as surprised as the cops when it turned up there.
