Novak or Bomar for carry?

Just out of curiousity, which would be better to carry around on a 1911?
A majority of the name brand makers have Bomars standard. Does this sight prove well combat wise?

All my autos (well, almost all) wear adjustables, including my 1911 (BoMar base, Caspian ghost-ring blade), but if I were just bulding a carry 1911 I'd use the superb MMC adjustable.

Really.

If you like the Bomar sight picture (which is top notch, in my opinion), but also want the snag free durability of fixed sights, I'd suggest the Heinie Slant Pros. They are fixed sights which are snag free, and offer an outstanding sight picture, which is similar to Bomars.

I retail custom 1911 and my comment is drawn from my customers comments and past sales.

If you change bullet loads you may consider an adjustable. But I personaly like the MMC adjustable and if you gun is a 1911 the MMC fits the standard Novak Dovetail cut.

Fixed sight you cannot beat the Novak.

On the MMC adjustable give them a call at 1 800 998 SITE and ask for Beth, Rob or Tom. You will get a catalog in the mail and great service.

Novak sight call 304 485 9295 and ask for JOe Bonar.

Yes, I am a retailer but recommend you go direct as you can get better information for your specific needs.

Phone works a lot better than email. You speak to the source and not through a source.

You also get a better feel for the service you will get.
