Novak Hi Power w/Special Ops Package

I just bought the above from Allan Yoast down here in Texas. Anyone have one? What has been your experience with it? It's a beauty, for sure! Spegel grips, T series. Does anyone know more about the St. Louis stamp (it's on mine) and the T series? Also, anyone have a Belgium Hi Power original owner's guide book or mags for sale? Or suggestions on a source?

Congrats on your taste in weapons! For the manual, go to www.browning.com . They have all the owner's manuals on-line. As for the Belgium mags, call Arms Depot at 1-800-678-9728. They sell the original Belgium marked, military issue 13-round mags for the Hi-power. I purchased three in the past few months. All have proven 100% reliable. The mags sell for $33 plus shipping. And they only take money orders. I sent them a money order on Thursday and the mags were on my doorstep on Tuesday. For the rest of your info, go to www.fnhipower.com. You'll find a wealth of information there. Hope this helps.

Thanks, Icopy. I'm going to call them for the mags today. Just plugged my serial number into the HPower web site and found it to be manufactured in 1965! A nice T series to have. Now for the owner's manual!

Sounds like one fine pistol! You might also check out the Saxet show in Austin this weekend - there are usually mags available, and I think "European Military" were going for about $30 last month.

Alan has some fine pistols. I handled one of his Ed Brown "Bobtail" compacts last month at the show ... but for $2500, handling it was all I could afford!

Try breaking in that Novak at the CenTex IDPA match next weekend. May see you there!

Dave,
Thanks for the thread. I just order a couple of the 17 rounders. They need a tool to load them, so it should be interesting.

Hank, you're right, Allan has some great pistols. He's my new best friend. I'm going to pick up one of the Brown Bobtails next, probably the $2500 one. The $3500 one is a dream, but my marriage would also be one if I poneyed up another grand for a gun.
I'm tempted to go down to Houston for the show this weekend, but am afraid I'll spend more money. Afraid??? No, I'm sure.
