Not really as difficult as I thought

I bought a SA Mil Spec full size 5" 1911 the other week. It is going to be a range toy BUT just for fun I decided to try it for ccw. It was a bit heavier than I like a ccw gun (usually carry a CW9 or 442) BUT it carried easier than my XD9 because of it's thin width. I won't be adding it to my carry routine because the longer length makes it a bit slow for me. However, I can see how people don't mind toting a 1911 for ccw.

My question is what is the biggest pistol you've ever ccw'ed and what is you regular carry gun(s)?

I've CCW a S&W 6" .357 686. Not often, but during hunting season a long shirt will cover it up pretty easy.

On a regular basis I've carried a Glock 22. While the gun itself is big, the thickness is what makes it tough. I've since moved away from the Glock as a winter carry piece and replaced with a full size, all steel Springfield TRP 1911. I don't mind the weight and the gun being thin makes it a great winter carry piece.

My summer guns are either a Ruger LCP or a S&W 637 Airweight snubnose.

Smith and Wesson Model 25 Mountain Gun.

N frame , 4" barrel. Swapped the factory grip for a smaller option. Carry it in a shoulder holster under a sports coat or heavy winter coat.

It's my funeral and wedding "outfit".

Those TRPs are sweet! IMHO one of (if not the) best tactical 1911 on the market. Guess that's why the FBI SWAT TEAM gets to play with them.

Yeah, it really is a great gun. It's a great shooting gun and since it's pretty easy to CCW, it quickly became my winter carry.

As a side note, when I bought it, I bought it as a range gun / HD gun and quickly found out just how easy it actually is to carry.

While it is heavy, with a good thick gun belt and leather holster, you really don't notice it.

Largest: S&W M29 Mountain Gun, in Simply Rugged Pancake

Normal: DW CBOB IWB in Sam Andrews MacDaniel, or OWB in Sam Andrews Crocodile Leather Paddle (my dress-up gun); CZ75B in Simply Rugged Cuda - but both are probably about to get replaced in battery by S&W M&Pc .357, holster TBD

BUG/Hot summer day: Kahr PM9 in DeSantis Nemesis - may add S&W 442 to rotation

Biggest I have carried was a Hi Point .45  back when I was poor and that was the first and only pistol I had. My Daily carry now is either my 5" 1911 or my S&W 4046, neither are what you would consider small.

Largest I carry in the winter time is a 4" N-frame in .41 Mag or .45LC. More frequently, a 4" steel or alloy 1911.

This assumes long pants, real shirt and some sort of cover garment (at least a sweat shirt).

The largest I have ever CCed was a P220. The largest I have ever really CCed for a significant time is a SIG P245. What I always CC is a PM9.

Biggest ever? 8.5" barrel .44 Auto Mag. Shoulder holster under a field jacket.
Regularly? Hardly.

Usual? Browning BDA .45, although that is going to change, as I now have a couple actual pocket guns, a Mauser HSc and a Colt Agent 2" .38spl.

Daily carry without fail and my only centerfire gun: Ruger New Vaquero, 4.68" barrel, 42oz, basically the same size as the Colt SAA.
