Needed to run to Walmart this morning for dog food. Since I had to go anyway I went early to see if they got in any 22 ammo. I picked up a 50 pound bag of Pedigree and wandered over to where they sell the ammo. There were two guys already waiting. Two more showed up shortly after I arrived. Within a few minutes the employee came out with the ammo delivery. They got one case (10 boxes) of 380 JHPs and one brick of Blazer 22 LRs.

One brick.

The clerk broke it open so the two guys ahead of me and I each got 3 boxes (limit is 3 of whatever they have) while the fellow behind me got the last one. The poor schmuck after him got up early on Saturday and drove to Walmart for nada.

I really don't need any more 22s, but I buy them when I see them. When I have some saved up I'm going to take them to the show and stand right next to the scumbag with a table sagging under the weight of 22 ammo selling at 4x retail and sell what I got for what I paid for it. Can't wait to see the look on the creep's face.

Great idea, sell them for what you paid. Or maybe even better, stop being one of the people buying it all up when you don't need it!!!! That way others can go to the counter and get some at the normal price.

My buddy gives me the Wal-Mart ammo report each time he gives it a shot. In fact, I got his latest report of the local ammo situation at Wal-Mart at 8:23 pm, EST, today, Feb 24, 2014. Here's what he relayed, from the one store he visited in Ohio:

Federal 9mm in 100-rd value pack: $25.77
Federal .45 in 100-rd value pack: $38.77

.38 Special, .40cal, .223, 7.62x39 also available, though he didn't give prices.

Lots and lots of stock on all listed above, 3-box limit per person. He bought 3x9mm.

No rimfire.
We're almost entirely sure that each Wal-Mart has someone getting some kind of a kick-back so that each of them get directed to someone that is funneling them to the local gun shows. This seems horribly obvious because nobody that I know of locally has seen -ANY- .22LR at any local Wal-Mart, but the gun shows have them (emblazoned with a WM-prefix right on the product code printed on the box) and they are, of course, priced $50-$70 per bulk pack.
