Just checked mine, and "sure nuff", it was two-digit.

Thanks for posting this. Will do my bit and pass it on.

Thanks. I checked and apparently my wife had already done it a few months ago. I hope a great many more people read your post.

I just checked mine and while the short date was two digit there was/is a setting that stated if year was two digit to interpert it as being between 1939 and 2038. Anyway I reset the year to 4 digits.

Mine was m/d/yyyy and I changed it to
mm/dd/yyyy.

Ez directions for computer challanged.
click start button, select settings, click control panel, click on globe icon named regional settings and click on index tab at upper right called date. From pull down list,
select & click MM/DD/YYYY Then click on Apply
& OK.

Now I gotta remember to do it to my other computer!

To all who replied, glad I was able to contribute something helpful.

Have a happy holiday season everyone.

Re your expressed concern about Y10K, given the natural progression of things, for instance that old song, with words as follows, "The game of life is hard to play, you are going to loose it anyway ...", we all may be rather far beyond caring. This from one Geezer to another.

Nuts. That means if me and my computer are around in Y10K, I'd have to add some more "Y's" to it?

That may fix a few little things...
But what I want is a fix that will move the decimal point on my bank statement 3 or more digiits to the right!

This story has been going around a while. I can't explain in detail, got this info from the Support tech where I work. It does't matter which setting you use, the setting only affects how the date is displayed on certain documents. The date setting that will cause a computer to crash is in it's internal clock, which you can't change without a software patch. If yours is labeled Y2K compliant, don't worry about it.
