Norton TP70 slide stop issue

Was given a tp70 .22lr. The slide stop appeared to be missing a spring which i bought. It has a pin on frame and coinciding channel in left grip which looks like logical place to install it. however the spring puts reverse tension pushing down instead of up to hold open. Would anyone have a schematic or picture with grip removed so i can see where it should properly go ? Thank you

I've never had a TP 70, but slide stops tensioned by a spring are designed to hold the slide stop down. The magazine follower is what moves the slide stop upward to hold the slide open when the magazine is empty.....

Thanks for your response...i'll try tomoro to see if its operational. I appreciate you taking time out to help. It appeared to me that it operated by pushing the stop up into the notch to hold it back by steady tension...didnt know follower was involved. It was missing when i got it so i didnt have any reference look of operation before hand like when you take something apart and reverse order to put it back together.

Look at Gun Parts Corp web site....Norton TP 70 and they have a exploded view of all parts. Budaschowski was first with the TP 70 then Norton tried, both failed with the slick little pistol.

If that spring applied upward pressure, it would lock the slide back on every shot.
The empty magazine pushes it up, and the spring keeps it down until then

I have an .25 American Arms Budischory TP-70 (Norton). Last of them made. I got it off GB in 2009. I have to go to work now so after wards i can remember how to disassemble and take close up pics of mine if it helps. please let me know.

i am so grateful for all of your responses. the image is actually the opposite side view and i would need to see the grip removed to make sure i placed spring on the right pin and end properly into stop. Safety first before i attempt to try it . thank you all again so much !!! Also being new to site is it proper etiquette to post responses or should i thank you privately as not to waste space? don't want to rub anyone the wrong way or break rules.
