Norinco 54-1?

I have a stupid question. I have a Norinco 54-1 chambered for 9x19 and I am entertaining the idea of getting one of the 7.62x25 barrels. Can this conversion be done safely and are the Norinco and Tokarev parts interchangeable? Will I need any parts other than the barrel and mags. Yes, my 54 has the wide magazine well and was available in 7.62x25.
 
If you can get a Norinco Modei 54 7.62mm barrel it should work fine, but you might have to do a little minor fitting.
