Norinco 1911A1 spring

I think I heard or read somewhere many years ago that Norinco from China installed an exceptionally heavy spring in its 1911A1 to ensure passage of US specifications.

. . . or did I just dream it?

If you have a Norinco 1911 and are concerned just replace all springs with a Wolf spring pack. Problem solved.

Sounds like the OP is talking about the mainspring = heavy trigger pull. Get a Colt OEM mainspring. Problem solved.

I have two Norincos. As far as I can tell, they are totally to U.S. GI specs and all parts interchange. There are only two exceptions: the sights are slightly different, and the grip screws/bushings have metric threads.

BTW, I fired one 8000 logged rounds and the other 2000 rounds, with no failures or stoppages of any kind. The Chinese may be "pinko commies" but they made good guns.
