well im not new to firearms i have been shootinga ll my life and recently got into handguns. however my fiance is a VERY qualified skeet shooter (VA ladies champ and gun champ about 6 six times this summer at various tornaments, and Va state team leader for 5 years) and i went out and shot trap with her a few weeks ago and had tons of fun. Well i think its time to get a gun and though i value her opinon it seems like she migrates towards her gun of choice (beretta) nothing against them but im poor. shes a lefty and has all of her guns fitted to a lefty so i can;t really try hers out.... that and i can't afford any of those 5k plus guns so yeah....

Long story short i want a semi-auto, something that i can use for skeet trap fun and home defense. something preferably in the $700-800 range. I would like something in 20ga. looking at a few guns now

i gotta go with the browning out of those(and i have two 1100's), but get the one that fits you best. they are all quality shotties. the 11-87 is a "improved" 1100, which is still better for light loads, the 11-87 can handle the magnum's better. (just the way i understand it)

timothy75 is right i have a Remington LT20 and shoot skeet with it. That is one great gun. They are smooth shooters. I highly reccommend one to any one getting into skeet or hunting. They take a 23/4 load nothin bigger than that since its the LT. Lt stands for lightweight and believe me there light weight. Look around i got mine for $375 and it was only shot several times. Ive shot some rabbits and a opposum. They have no recoil and a very nice gun. I have a walnut stock on mine (i prefer a walnut stock). The rest of the money spend on some Remington Gun club target loads. those are the best and their cheap. good luck and i hope u find what ur lookin for.:)

thanks for all your imput is the lt20 still in production?? i didn't see it on remington's website. also is it a good enough gun to hold its own on the competition scale?? thanks!
