I feel almost apologetic about this but........would one of you point me in the right direction?

I'm looking for some inexpensive small non-wood boot grips to fit a Smith J-frame. Does anyone make a simple, slick, black, bakelite finish grip for this gun? I went to Brownell's but their website is like a rat-maze.

I definitely don't want something rubbery or tacky.

Thanks in advance........................

Yeah, I know. It is easier to look stuff up in a print catalog, then check the web site to see if they still carry it.
Go back to http://www.brownells.com/Product/index.asp and search for product number 729-100-001. That is the smooth J frame grip. -002 is textured, -003 has finger grooves, -004 is finger grooved & textured.

I have a pair of Precision Grip Specialties J frame grips that I like. They're black, smooth textured, without finger grooves, and fill in behind the trigger guard. I believe they also come in textured models and with finger grooves.

Either way, they are very compact, about the size of the original J frame wooden grips, and do not extend beyond the frame except for filling in behind the trigger guard. They're also inexpensive, about $17.

I can't remember where I got mine, but I think they're on the Brownells site. I think someone else posted the product numbers above.

I think you'll be happy with them.:)

Barami hip-grips are great, like the best thing ever made for a J frame.

If you dont have them, you need them.

They are hard plastic, and can be had in several choices of color, black being one.

I cant say enough nice things about them.

I dont work for them, by the way.;)
