Non resident ccw reciprocity

Heres my question/situation: My wife and I are moving from Georgia to Virginia end of April. We both have ccws here in Georgia and will apply once settled in Virginia. We also have family in Florida. I am thinking about us applying for a non-resident permit from Florida. I'm curious to know if the states that have reciprocity with Florida will recognize our non-resident Florida permit even through we live in Virginia? I realize that I could call each state listed Attorney Generals Office, however would like to hear from anyone who would care to give feedback.
Thanks in advance,
Daddycat. P.S.I wasn't sure if I should post this here or in the general discussion forum :o

Here are some states that should recognize your non-resident FL permit:

Arkansas
Georgia
Idaho
Indiana
Kentucky
Louisiana
Mississippi
Montana
North Dakota
Tennessee
Wyoming

Another good non-resident permit to get is the Utah CCW, which is recognized in over half a dozen states.

The best cross-reference database with very up to date reciprocity and license information is the User Contributing Concealed Carry Database at http://www.packing.org

Good luck!

Florida will only provide reciprocal privileges to CCW holders who are residents of the state that issues the CCW license. For example, if I live in Ohio and apply for a New Hampshire CCW license, I am legal to carry in New Hampshire but not in Florida, since I am not a resident of New Hampshire. Your best bet is to apply for the FL license in addition to the VA license.
