For those of you (civilian, not LE or military) who frequently carry, please indicate your handgun selection for primary and, if used, backup.

It's not and all or nothing thing so the poll is bound to be a bit skewed.

I almost exclusively a semi-auto, from a Rohrbaugh R9s to a stainless Commander and a few things in between.
But, I also have a 642 that I carry occasionally depending upon how I'm dressed.

Whatever I carry, I don't carry a BUG nor do I even carry an extra mag.
I'm totally comfortable that any SD situation I get in would be within the 99.9999% statistic of being over within 3 rounds.

Now if I lived a bit closer to the Mexican border, I would probably change my carry philosophy to carrying no less than a 16-round semi-auto, and an AR-15 as my BUG.
Or is it the other way around?

Depends on the mood and dress

Option A: SA XD tactical 45 compact

Option B: SA XD Subcompact 9mm

Backup for both is a Ruger LCP

My carry guns are a Glock 36 or Taurus 651. I prefer to carry a revolver, but typically carry my auto, since I shoot it better.

I plan on picking up a 3" revolver, which will likely become my carry choice.
