NON-CCW Friendly MYRTLE BEACH

Hi all,

Just got back from vacation in Sunny South Carolina.

Found out the hotel we have stayed at for the last three years is
NON-CCW freindly. At first thought it was just the lobby but they had it posted at every vantage point.

Actually - I began really looking and found many, many places in Myrtle Beach were non-CCW freindly.

Whats up with that?

Must be a tourist trap thing. I travel in the upstate quite a bit. Never saw anything unfriendly concerning concealed carry.

You're right ARUB - It may be....

Greaty point Arub....

Sorry for painting S.C. with one brush. That was stupid of me.

Within your room, it wouldn't be CCW. Your rights are not the same as if you were in your house or apartment, but you still have rights in a hotel.

Knox...

Exactly what did the posting look like? Was it uniform at all locations?

In Texas, I know that they have to use a sign that meets regs written by the state legislature.

Businesses have to post a sign basically saying "no concealable weapons". I've never even seen one of those signs at any motel/hotel where I have stayed. And I travel about 50K a year. Myrtle Beach is not a gun friendly place "period". I stay away. But, that's another story......

and the sign said....

long haired freaky people, need not apply..... :)

Seriously - it is a picture of a handgun ( semi ) with a big red circle and bar through it. It has written upon it ( something like this )
" No concealable weapons allowed" Saw them at the IHOP, at least three seafood places, several hotels including ours.

Hit 'em where it hurts.

My advice would be to tell them that you would not be staying there in the future & why. When enough citizens tell them that, they'll change their policies.

"Gee Bob, go get the shotgun out of the truck, no one in here has a gun, that means we can rob the place in safety"

soon to be over heard in a S.C. IHOP.....
