No Semi-Auto Uzis?

OK, I am thumbing through the Shotgun News when suddenly it strikes me, where are the Uzi knock-offs? Is it not worth making this in SA because it won't hit squat past 10 feet or is an Uzi really a pistol? So what's the deal? Uzi's were this, that, and the other a while back. What happened?

Whats it take to build one up semi auto with a 16 inch barrel?

Depends. We have semi-auto Uzis and the SPP, but we don't have the
full-autos available over the counter in Switzerland. All semis are
cloed bolt versions.

Is the Uzi a good SMG? Yes. A good pistol? Hell, no.

Stens are cool, but really precise either. Get an MP5, a TMP, or of
course, if you're into the 'evil Nazis against good Americans' game, a
Schmeisser. :)
 
You Could Build Your Own

Bluegrass Armory in Louisville KY has Group Industries receivers and I've seen parts kits out there. I think Bushmaster still sells 16 and 18 inch semi auto barrels.

Looks like you could build your own for $500-$600.
