No pets, No Guns, No Vehicles After Sunset.

I just ran across this in the local paper, and to say the least, I'm a bit confused. Granted, the story is about some signs around town, but it is what's on the sign that's so mysterious. As the lady was quoted for the picture caption, are all those things okay before sunset? To the best of my knowledge, Dillsboro does not have any ordinances related to the possession of firearms within the city limits, concealed or not. Any thoughts on this?

Thanks,

No guns after sunset....that means that it is safe to mug people after dark, right?

<BLOCKQUOTE><font size="1" face="Verdana, Arial">quote:</font><HR>"But the signs put up by the town have grown and grown and are becoming increasingly negative. On Webster Street alone, there are 11 signs, all within 300 feet, telling us all what we can't do."[/quote]

Aah, good people of Dillsboro, take heart! You are but the vanguard of a revolution!

Yes, a revolution of wise control by those in the state, professionals if you will, who are trained in what is best for Dillsboro. Your fair village is a shining example of what we can accomplish on the road to perfection by the state in all of our mother country.

A world in which all that is bad is illegal, safety and security reign, and there is a sign and a statute to guide every faint heart.

From seat belts to beer kegs, guns to smoking, licensing and registration of all peoples will save the day. Every man and every woman, of all colors, will know what they can and cannot do. No flags at your condo, and a pleasing, pastel color for every home on your block. From city councils to homeowners associations, no citizen of our brave new world will despair over their choices in life ... we will guide them, every step of the way.

So, fear not the signs in Dillsboro. They are simply a 'sign' of the times ... a sign that all is well, in the land of the free and the home of the brave ... ;)

'Course, the next posting will be regarding one demented resident of Dillsboro that is holed up in his or her home, holding 20 city signs hostage ... ;)

Live and let live. Regards from AZ

Sign, sign, everywhere a sign, Do this, Don't do that, Can't you read the signs?
(I can't remember who sang this but now it'll be stuck in my head for days!)

Tesla did a mediocre remake...

The original was by the Five Man Electric Band, IIRC.

Sign, sign, everywhere a sign,
blockin' up the scenery,
breakin' my mind.
Do this - don't do that,
Can't you read the sign.

The sign said "All trespassers, will be shot on sight..."

Are we dating ourselves...?

"What -- Paul McCartney was in a band before Wings?" :)

(For the record, the music I listen to in no way indicates my age)

...

So I jumped over the fence
and I shouted at the house,
"Hey -- what gives you the right
to put up a fence and keep me out
or to keep other people in?!?"
If God were here He'd tell it to your face
Man, yer some kinda sinner

[ insert "small, non-legally binding sign of pistol in a red circle with a slash through it" here ]
