No more 40 cal Rugers

My local dealer(FFL ;) ) told me today that Ruger has ceased production of 40 caliber pistols. Truth?

I dunno...

...we just ordered one for a customer from Davidson's last Friday.

It's still on their posters and in their literature, and no one's informed us that they're going away. I'd take that remark with a very large grain of salt.

The only thing I know is that a year ago one of the wheels at the AZ plant told me they were going to bring out their poly framed 40 this year. Doesn't look like they are going to make it.

There is no way they could use the 9mm frame and bbl set up. It would not hold up. I guess they figured this out themselves. It would be expensive to retool for a 40 only gun, even if they also offered it in 357 Sig. I would buy one if they did. That's why I got my Glock 32 last Christmas.

Well if it is true i'm sure glad I bought one a couple of years ago! of all the handguns i've ever owned my P94 is the best...tight groups...feeds any ammo you put in it...just a great all-around handgun. and if you can only have 10 rounds...I like my chances with the .40cal
Tony.

I take this rumor with a grain of salt. I highly doubt that Ruger would discontinue making .40 pistols...afterall, the .40 is the "in" cartridge with a lot of LEO's.

If this "rumor" is true, I could care less either way. I prefer .45 ACP and 9mm by far over .40! I do love my "token .40" (CZ 75), but honestly I don't think I will ever buy another .40......

I can't see this happening, either.

I'm still waiting for Ruger to make a 10mm. Maybe have interchangable barrels for .40 or something.
