...A day upon which one fires a revolver is a good day.
Went to my shootin spot this morning in the middle of a drizzle which I was absoultely certain would clear by the time I got there.
NOT!
Drizzle continued for pretty much the entire session. I only shot one revolver, the ASP Remington .44. I got through four cylinders before I realized it just wasn't going to stop raining.
I did have the opportunity to try out the wads I had made. First twelve shots were wads under and no lube over the ball. Shots were all over the place. I shot the target stand...shot the target next to the one I was aiming for...
Next twelve were wads under the ball and then lube over the ball. Grouping was FAR better.
I did not shoot enough to form any solid opinions about this topic. But I am just about ready to declare that lube over the ball is more important than a wad under the ball. At least that seemed to be true this morning in this pistol.
