No Bushmasters in Canada

I just noticed on the Bushmaster site that all international sales are suspended since the Craven terrorist attack.
That leaves Canadians like myself out of luck...:(

The worst part is that in Canada we don't have any 'assault weapon' bans on AR-15's and we can have all the 14.5" barrels, flash suppressors, bayonet lugs and telescoping stocks that we want. Heck one local gunshop sells scads of Colt 'law enforcement' carbines.

We are limited to five rounds only...:(

I will have to be patient...Chrome lined barrels sound good and not having to take a screwdriver to take out the pivot pin (like on my Colt carbine) sounds great.

I'll have to check with my local dealer...since the attack I have a feeling that arms shipments across the border will be 'delayed' for quite some time.

I still have a Wickmann BHP that should be done now...

Five rounds?

Sheesh, and I thought our laws are bad. I can't see buying an AR if limited to 5 rounds. Does this apply only to semiautos with detachable box mags, or does it affect all guns? Can you have Garands or SKSs? What about leverguns with 9 round magazines, or pump shotguns with 7 round tubes?

Whats the deal with Canadian gun laws ?

I've always been told they are waaaaay harsher than here in the U.S., but I'm constantly surprised at what you are allowed to own. Much more than here in California.

Nightcrawler,

If you are talking about tube magazines, the 5 round restriction does not apply. Any centerfire gun with a stacked magazine, nevermind the action, cannot have more than 5 rounds capacity. Only 2 exceptions apply, the Garand and the Lee-Enfield. Not by generosity from our dearest gov't, but because there were so many out there they couldn't seize them all!

So if you live in Canada and want semi-auto hi-capacity, get either a .22 (limited to 10 rounds) or a Garand...

But if you want the evil 10 rounds capacity, get an Enfield! (I've got a 1944 No4 MkI*, and I'm working very hard on the SO to convince her we NEED the No4 MkII and the Garand...)

:(

Your getting a little Misinformation here.....

Only SEMI AUTO FIREARMS have a 5 round Mag Restriction with the exception of the M1 Garand (8 shot) and RIMFIRE Rifles. Manually Operated Firearms have no Magazine Restriction.

Case in point is that 25 and 50 rnd .22lr Butler Creek and Ramline Magazines are Readily Available at ANY gunstore and are only $25 for the BC 25 Rounders.

Picture this, In Canada we can Legally Own the Following and they are classed as simple Hunting Type Arms with no Restrictions;

M203 40mm Grenade Launcher (classed as single shot weapon)
HK G36 (unclassified so totally Legal)
14" Pump Shotguns (only restriction is the OAL must be 26")

and a Whole other Slew of Fireamrs...... but the AK, Steyr Aug, and most of the early 90's Military Arms/Assault Weapons are Prohibited.

Back to the Topic of this Thread, Here is the Distributor for Bushmaster in Canada.... they have a couple M4 style carbines in stock last time I called, with the 4 positon stock, A2 Flash Hider and Bayonet Lug. United Sports

Or you can Phone Wolverine and Get an M4 Style Armalite for $1450-$1470 (flattop) Canadian, here is the Web Page Wolverine Supplies

Yes...

Yes Wolverine and United Sports where the Importers on the Last Batch of G36's to enter the country, they sold out before they where imported and went for $3300 Canadian.

Kinda Expensive for a .223 but I would have bought one if I got in on it soon enough.

The Regulations on Magazines are that FULLY ASSEMBELED mags are prohibited so you can order the Mag Tubes and block them before doing final assembly. You can still legally Import Hi-Cap Replacement Mag Tubes into Canada, as long as they are blocked properly before full Assembly (or during full assembly).

But getting Companies in the USA to believe this is another matter...

dont feel to bad..I believe the poor saps in kalifornia can only have an AR if its a single shot,,,HK out

Sorry,

Should have posted the Prohib List Earlier....

There are a few of the Newer Firearms that Aren't on it that are in my Verifiers Software, but basically anything not on the List is legal to own up here.... if the manufacturer will let it be sold to civilians.
