For years and years, it seems that every time I've gone to a gun show, there's been an abundance of K-framed S&W .38 Special revolvers with adjustable sights. Well, I've finally decided that I want one, so of course now they've disappeared! I went to a gun show yesterday and there wasn't a single K-38 or 6" Model 14 there. There were plenty of 6" .44 Magnums and .357 Magnums and 4" .38s and even two 6" Model 17s, but none of the sub-$300 .38 target guns that once seemed so plentiful.
So, listen up, those of you who have them: they're not in style anymore. The .38 is out of date! It's feeble and old fashioned, a grandpa gun. What you really need is a shiny, new semiauto, or some stupendous hand cannon to impress your friends. Go sell your dusty, old .38 Smiths while you can still get a few dollars for them.
