NJ state senators caught with open mics

So during a committee session yesterday 3 NJ state senators got caught voicing their true view of the 2nd amendment. I'd like to ask that any and all people in the United States to please feel free to email, fax, or mail their opinion about the subject to them. It would be nice to see their offices filled to capacity with angry letters.

Basically one of them, they won't admit who stated that they needed to confiscate confiscate confiscate.

The recording opens with what sounds like a senator or staff member saying, "We needed a bill that was going to confiscate, confiscate, confiscate" — although it is not clear who is speaking or if this is what she is saying.

"They want to keep the guns out of the hands of the bad guys, but they don't have any regulations to do it," Weinberg then says, more audibly.

One of the senators, who sounds like Cunningham, responds: "They don't care about the bad guys. All they want to do is have their little guns and do whatever they want with them."

"That's the line they've developed," another, who sounds like Greenstein, says.

If you live in New Jersey or for some dumb reason are thinking of moving here NEVER think it is over. All of these bills will sail through our senate to Christie's desk, and he'll sign them. He's always been a RINO. This is the trend in the North East now though, and as we over populate our states we'll be spilling into yours.

Here's what I'm getting from listening.

The older lady says something to the effect of "[They keep talking about] confiscate, confiscate, confiscate"

And the younger lady then says something like "They keep saying they want to keep guns out of the hands of the criminals, but they don't want any regulations to do it."

Followed by "They just want to have their little guns and do whatever they want with them."

Talking about confiscating guns? Probably not. But the scorn for the gun rights groups hurts me through the screen.

I would rather these anti gunners just be straight forward and say it: We want to repeal the 2A, we want to confiscate every privately held gun in the nation unless you are part of the political or social "elite. Period.

I wish they would just out and say whats in their heart of hearts more often so the general public who refuse to actually dig into someones background had a better picture of where candidates actually stood on issues.

Well to be honest they did tell us exactly what they were going to do before the 2012 election. Mr. Obama’s Party Platform included specific goals of: background checks, assault weapons ban and elimination of private sales. Also, over the last few years the NRA has done a good job of letting us know what was going to happen even though a lot of folks accused them of being paranoid.

Patriot, what you said made me think of this:

If you drop a frog in a pot of boiling water, it will of course frantically try to clamber out. But if you place it gently in a pot of tepid water and turn the heat on low, it will float there quite placidly. As the water gradually heats up, the frog will sink into a tranquil stupor, exactly like one of us in a hot bath, and before long, with a smile on its face, it will unresistingly allow itself to be boiled to death.

We are the frog.

Some people truly believe that guns make people bad... They think that if they take all of the legal guns it will end the problem. They don't realize that the firearm is a tool, and only a tool. Criminals will not follow the laws and will be the only ones armed if the anti's had their way. Because we all know, that if determined to do so a criminal can find a weapon illegally. They also think that it will stop people from killing each other in events like Newtown. It dosent work like that, look at what the Boston bombers used... Will they require a background check for gasoline that isn't pumped into your car (instead being pumped into a gas can) say for a law mower? They think they can stop clinically insane or just plain evil people from harming others by basically taking he most common items used to do this harm to others. What they need to do is focus on the illness or the habitual criminal instead of blaming the weapons that they used.

NJgunowner is exactly right. If they want to introduce "common sense" gun laws, first the bill writers and sponsors should have to prove the have and know what common sense is...

I am not an expert on NJ law but does NJ have citizens arrest?
If it is proven who these elected officials are that are advocating for firearms confiscation, then I think they have crossed the line into treasonous territory.

There should be a federal law against an elected official willfully and knowingly passing and pursuing unconstitutional laws.

No offense - but treason has a specific definition. There is no crime here.

Can we stay grounded?

You can propose any law you like. It will meet the legislative and ultimately SCOTUS test.

Basically one of them, they won't admit who stated that they needed to confiscate confiscate confiscate.

Dose not matter who said it.

Remember the old rule from school: if you are covering for someone you are just as guilty as they are.
