Nitrex TR2 v. Nikon Monarch

I have been saving up for a new scope for my Remington 700 .308 and its primarily a deer/hog gun and i have been wanting to buy one of the 4-16x50 Nikon Monarchs with either the BDC or NikoPlex and i was looking around and found the Nitrex TR 2's 4-20x50 for $359 with a $100 mail in rebate and it has the fine X reticle. Could this be a better deal than buying a Monarch or is the Monarch Better glass hands down?

While I've never seen a Nitrex, so that makes my opinion worthless, but after comparing the Nikon Monarch to Zeiss and Leupold, I'd be hard pressed to guess that it would be a better scope than the Nikon.

the TR Twos are the same as the Weaver Super Slams so they should be good. My understanding is that ATK owns both names and branded them differently for different vendors.

I believe both scopes are made in Japan.

Either way you're good. I think similar models have comparable windage and elevation, so it comes down to your preference of reticle and whether or not you want turret adjustments without caps.

If Natchez is still running those specials on the Nitrex thats the route I'd go, I don't recall when the included mail in rebates were good until.

Otherwise, flip a coin?
