Nitesiters

Last night I attached the Nitesiters glow dots to 3 of my handguns. Very impressive glow. Placement was not too much of an issue / cured them in front of the small space heater in my computer room / charged up all 3 guns (1911 5" / S&W40V / BERSA 380) and put the 40 and 380 into their gun safe and the 1911 in the bed side drawer for the night. This morning, after 8-1/2 hours, all 3 were still able to glow more than enough to see in very low light conditions.

8 dots for less than $13 delivered and got three guns outfitted (the S&W 40V already had a trillium front sight I installed a few years ago and is still bright).

Now to see how they hold up to use / carry / etc. I know that they do not replace a good set of trilliums but for the $ a good, bright deal.

Be sure to let us know how they work out for you!

I've been considering adding them to some of my handguns. $15 for a pack sounds like a great deal, compared to the $130+ of most other night-sights.

My biggest concern is the need to charge them. For HD, I would just keep a UV light with the gun to quickly charge it up in a flash. But for a gun that is kept on my belt, under a jacket and away from any light, I don't know how much they would help. If I am drawing from my belt, its going ot be in a hurry, and I doubt there'd be time charge the sights up.

Lucky Guys

You are lucky to be able to see how they work. We ordered ours a month ago, and still have not got them or heard back from so called "Customer Service". Have tried to contact Dave here with a Private message, and have even opened a paypal dispute.

Sorry to say, in some cases you DONT get what you pay for....

Hey MudPuppyguns

Hey MudPuppyguns I'm the developer of Glow-On super phosphorescent, a picture here:

Our presentation is different, a single vial, super luminescent pigment, good for a couple of dozen guns, (or fishing lures, or fingernails, whatever ) we are adding with the single vial a bit of what we call Glow-On Self Adhesive, which is what you see on the rear sight, US$13.31 gets you the whole tamale.
Is Glow-On any good? I'll say, (as I write, we have testers fishing over lake Erie, in deep water with good results), here another picture:

Now, here is the deal: I'm not trying to sell you anything with this post, nor am I insinuating anyone to buy anything.
Just wanted to make that clear.
I would like to send you the Glow-On, no strings attached , just PM me, tell me where you want me to send the Glow-On, I'll make it right for you.

Did I say it's made in the USA?

Thank You

I take my gun club to frontsight this weekend. Six members of our club, are taking the 4-day defensive handgun course at Frontsight this coming weekend, which includes a night fire training. This would be a great chance to show your product to my club as well as the other people taking the course. The class costs $2,000 per person, so attendees will have money. I was lucky enough to get my class paid for.

Thank You for your generous offer I have sent you the p.m.

I put the Nightsighter dots on my CCW. They worked when charged, but I couldn't get them to stay on. The first ones I just stuck on. The second ones I glued on. I finally got a set of Trijicon night sights and put on it. They don't have to be charged to glow in the dark.

Gatopardo here

Howdy Quantrill, our home in cyberspace is Glow-on.com, all the pertinent info is there, if anyone should have any question, please PM me I'll be glad to answer to the best of my abilities.

We stand behind our product 100% and I unlike the rest of the competition won't say "it's better then this or that", that would be misleading. Our Glow-On is just different, we'll just leave it at that.

I think the best characteristic of Glow-On is its flexibility: Its basically a creamy luminescent pigment of hi density, ( no poster paint, or stuff you buy at an art store or hobby store), since its so resilient to the elements gun sights is the first application which comes to mind, but frankly, the imagination is the limit,
We have a real good friend tested it on deep water over lake Erie, with positive results, his statement was: "Go with the glow", I definitely owe him something, funny thing though as he puts it, he used the oldest chipped spoon he would find, who could blame it, he's stepping into the unknown with this product, however after the first day he ditched the "new spoons" and stuck with the Glow-On ones.

glow-on

gatopardo I just placed an order. I tried to buy from Nitesiters a couple of days ago but they were out of stock and not sure when they would be able to fill my order, so I'll give your stuff a try. I will report back here with my results.

Glow-on review

Just a report on my experience with this product as promised.

The positives:
1. The price for the product is very reasonable.
2. The service and communication from the company is first rate. I received some free stick-on dots, that came in a separate envelope. When I emailed to check on the rest of the order, the reply was fast along with a notice that they would ship another order immediately. When I found the first order had been picked up by my wife I emailed them not to ship another. I thought their offer was impressive.
3. The liquid is easy to use. I used it on the front and rear sights of my Ruger GP-100; just a small amount to frame the back sight, and the ramp on the front.
4. When completely dry, and after a coat of clear finger nail polish, the sights really do glow in the dark after a second or two of being illuminated by a bright flashlight. The stick-on material is the same. When charged the sights are clearly visible in all low light conditions. The front sight is more visible in even in bright light than before the application.

Negative:
1. The "glow-in-the-dark" nature of the product does not last through the night.

Conclusion:
I keep a small hand held flashlight with my revolver, so while the product does not "glow" as long as I would like, that is not a deal breaker since I am going to need a light to identify my target anyway. A second or two of light will keep the sights glowing long after the trouble has ended. If you want sights visible in the dark when your weapon is removed from the drawer/nightstand/lock box then tritium is probably a better choice.

I have read on another forum that the guy selling the Nitesiters go stationed overseas, and he is having a problem keeping up and filling orders. I have no direct knowledge of that,, but it is what I read.

It is a shame. I have ordered from him a few times - and for the $, it is a decent product.
