Nightmare with a little to much truth in it.

Ok last night I had a very strange nightmare. The Government had set up "camps" for people. Basically they were teaching us that it was bad to be an individual. We had to think as a group and do only what was best for the group. Failure in the camp or attempting to leave was punished by death.

Of course the dream was a dream and got kind of funky when I tried to break out.. (swords and sorcery type stuff)
But the underlying idea scared the Crap out of me. How long do we have till something like this happens. How long till making a fist and defending ourselves is reason to be sent for "re-education"

There is a series of books out Called the Man-Kzin Wars where this was the case. Anyone over the age of 5 that even thought about violence was sent off to a camp to be re-educated. And when mankind ran into a situation where they needed that Violent instinct to make war they were Screwed. Fantasy today yes. But for how long?
