Nickle plated Model 10-6

Just stumbled across a Model 10-6 in my favorite pawn shop today. Bull barrel and nickle plated...

Never seen a nickled Model 10. Anybody give me any information on it? It's in 90% shape with some of the nickle coming off on the backstrap.

Needless to say, with my addiction of K frame .38s I put it on lay-away.

Nice find!

Yes, Model 10s were done in nickel. The Model 10 went to blue finish only in 1992. Good factory nickel gets a slight price premium over blue. How much did you give for that puppy?

Well, I actually had a bit of credit in this store so will wind up paying 105 for it. The tag on the gun said 200, which I thought was a dang good price to start with...

The Military & Police and later Model 10 was always available in nickel (until 1992 when EPA laws made using nickel difficult and expensive) and I have seen many and bought several.

THIS is a 10-7 with the standard barrel and I also have a much less frequently seen Model 13 (M & P in .357 Magnum) in nickel. These are supposed to be fairly rare but I didn't know that when I bought as a police trade-in some years back. I think nickel guns were popular with police in the Southern states.
