So as the title says. Has anyone ever thought of doing it? How hard is nickel plating ?the blue on my gp is somewhat scratched and faded .

So is it possible ? Does anyone have one or seen one?

AAA.

It is possible, but going to cost you. A bright nickle finish shows scratches so easily that I would not personally do it. I would rather get it re-blued.

Check out this place, I've heard they do very good work (at a price though).

Looks like a complete nickle finish would cost about $320 + s/h and insurance. They offer a "Master Blue" finish that costs $275. I would go that route myself. The Master Blue is a high polished blue (think Colt Python Blue). Check out the costumer picture section. (check out this Security Six in Master Blue.. drool worthy http://www.fordsguns.com/index-gun83.htm )

I really don't know the price ranges for something like this, but that is one reputable place to give you a gist.

Then again.. scratches and fading gives the gun personality ;) (in other words, I'm a cheapo and probably wouldn't spend almost the cost of a new GP100 for a refinish, hehe)

That Security Six has a killer blue, but, what's up with the fit on the trigger group? Looks like somebody really laid into the belt sander. That's a huge gap and, not what I expect to see in a "master" finish.

That said, Fords does awesome work.

wow, that is awesome Master Blue Sec-Six, i may have to save up and have that done to my '76 Sec-Six, fordsguns does some nice work.
